A1A Says Bon Voyage and Good Luck To Guitarist/Harmonica Player James Cobb

James Cobb came into my musical life through my old friend and A1A alumni bass player/mandolin player, Koney Ferrell. Koney brought James into The Jeff Pike Smooth Jazz Trio in early 2005, and in the blink of an eye, before you knew it, James was a fulltime member of A1A. James brought his astute perspective and accomplished musicianship to the band from the very first day, and we were all the better for it.

Being an extraordinarily trained and practiced classical guitarist, composer, harmonica player and top studio engineer, James successfully wore many hats in A1A. His visual, charismatic and exciting stage presence and performances were always a hit with our audience and his own personal fan base has became very large. We have been very blessed to have him as a band member, songwriter and recording engineer for A1A for the past 6 years.

From the very first trip that James and I took to the Caribbean, I knew without a doubt that his heart, soul and music were at home on the island of St. John. It is where he wrote, worked and lived at his best. Most important of all, it is where his heart and soul were happy, at rest and at peace. I always knew he would return for good, but I did not think it would be this soon.

He has been visiting St. John during our off season to play for a few years now, and every year when he left I would always wonder if we would perform together again. For I always knew it was a matter of time before he put away the wanderlust in his soul and finally settled down where he belonged.

While I am extremely happy and envious of the life, work, creativity, music, harmony and spiritual peace that my old friend James has found, I must say with a heavy heart that I am going to miss him greatly. Onstage and off. James and I had many, many good times together. We had lots of laughs, lots of tears, and shared a musical bond that only veteran solo entertainers such as ourselves can share. I am going to miss all of that...a lot.

You can keep up with James by visiting him on Facebook at "James Cobb On Facebook"
You can also e-mail James at james@reel-life.net

Good luck old friend, and remember......whatever you got.....jam it...:-)
Love you and will miss you my brother
Jeff Pike

April 18, 2011
