A1A - The Strand Theatre
Marietta, Georgia - June 29, 2024 The Marietta Square has held a deep and special place in my heart since I first performed there in 1985—Charades, Water Street, over 24 years at Hemingway's, and the many years of our successful A1A concerts on the square. When A1A started in the early 90's as a duo with Scott Nickerson and me, we held court and built our army at Hemingway's throughout the 90's. Fans would travel from out of state regularly to see what all the hullabaloo was about. There was a magic about Hemingway's, The Square and The Strand, where we would later record our third live album in 2011, 'Road To Paradise.' The A1A fan base in Marietta has always been vivaciously strong and fiercely loyal, and as the band grew, so did the fan base. Our show last night at The Strand was a performance none of us will ever forget. The audience was quite possibly the loudest, most frenzied, and appreciative audience we have played for in a long time. But then, our fans in Marietta have always been that way. I love them so much. I was moved to tears last night, as were other members of the band. It was an incredible evening. Thanks to The Strand and everyone who came to the show, and our apologies to the hundreds they had to turn away because there were no tickets left. We promise to make it up to you. Many more photos coming. Bubbles Up, Jeff Pike |
